Watchlist 3-25-2014 – $PEIX, $IDN, $MVIS, $MNGA, $PTX

While it was a green day in the end, was pretty frustrating all in all. Spent the morning grinding out some solid profits, then went to leave mid day for a dog walk (per my plan). I skipped and ended up entering some shitty trades, that did nothing but gobble up time and mental energy and create small losses. Good news is I stuck to my rules and followed my plan on the actual trades so the losses were small. But managed to turn a good day into a mediocre day by not following my routine. Wrote about it in detail in my journal so hoping it sticks in my stupid brain…

Today’s List: Full list from Yahoo Finance

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) -NasdaqCM

Several missed trades on this yesterday, not entirely sure why I never shorted it. I have it in my logbook, but I think I just got scared out by the early choppiness. But soon after the open it was a killer short.

Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (IDN) -NYSE MKT

This was my loser from yesterday, and really should have probably never entered. I thought I saw some fading mid day, but it never really moved. Should have covered for stratch but I waited and took a small loss instead. Positives were that I set a stop, stuck to it and followed my rules. Good lesson in discipline. Plus there are earnings today, I followed my rule of not holding into earnings.

Microvision Inc. (MVIS) -NasdaqGM

Almost shorted this premarket, and while it would have worked out great, it was scary at that point. Not sure how good the news is on this, but I’ll be looking to fade it. Not a ton of downside left.

Magnegas Corporation (MNGA) -NasdaqCM

I always try and avoid pre market trading, but yesterday it burned me, between $MVIS and $MNGA, I missed two great trades. Not sure the lesson, I still think its wise to avoid premarket, but maybe be more aggressive just go in with smaller size.

Pernix Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. (PTX) -NasdaqGM

Illiquid stock, but I have done well with shorting these through the years. I do like the chart and there are borrows at $IBKR.
