Watchlist for 6-16-2016 – $EXAS, $HMNY, $EMES, $SPHS, $BSPM, $CNXR

Today’s Watchlist

Busy day today with lots of projects, going to set alerts and only trade if they trigger. Done ok this week but been overtrading and back and forth alot.

Today’s List: Full list from Yahoo Finance

Exact Sciences Corporation (EXAS) -NasdaqCM

Look to short a push to $10 or a breakdown under $9.00

Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc. (HMNY) -NasdaqCM

Super low float so should have been more interested in the long the last few days, but now its just up to much. I think its impossible to borrow, but if it gets to $15+ again I’ll look to short (if I can).

Emerge Energy Services LP (EMES) -NYSE

Short at $11 or under $9.

Sophiris Bio, Inc. (SPHS) -NasdaqCM

Fought this all day yesterday, ended up with a small loss, was way too patient, held $2’s all day. It probably randomly cracks at some point, but after trading in the teens and $2.20’s all day I wont short unless it spikes to the $2.40’s

Biostar Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (BSPM) -NasdaqCM

Will set an alert in the $5.50’s but will be reactive, will only short a para not a grind.

Connecture, Inc. (CNXR) -NasdaqGM

Money loser, but also seems “real” watching $2.50’s

Watchlist for 11-3-2015 – $AVXL, $EXAS, $VSCP, $FOLD, $CYTK, $EROS

Today’s Watchlist

Sooo many messy charts today, I had a couple shorts yesterday but let them both grind me out. Basically they just followed the market, edged up all day. Everything on scan is choppy and seems to be sitting right at breakouts. Though 99% of them will fail to breakout, it’s tough to really pick some to focus on.

Today’s List: Full list from Yahoo Finance

Anavex Life Sciences Corp. (AVXL) -NasdaqCM

Of course this is on watch, but I just keep staying away till the backside. Of course it will probably collapse 50% out of nowhere, but I’ll keep waiting for true fading or possible a wicked squeeze out.

Exact Sciences Corporation (EXAS) -NasdaqCM

Thought about this several times yesterday, but as mentioned above I recognized it was in “grind” mode and stayed away. Nice rush into the close.

Target: $10+ for a starter.

VirtualScopics Inc. (VSCP) -NasdaqCM

Low float kept hugging red to green so I tried it long yesterday, lost like $50 bucks. Now that we are on to day 3 I’m short bias.

Target: High $4’s

Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. (FOLD) -NasdaqGM

Another grinder, but looking for $9+ for entry.

Cytokinetics, Incorporated (CYTK) -NasdaqCM

Target: Pop’s over $11 or fading later today.

Eros International Plc (EROS) -NYSE

A loser yesterday, should have recognize the ABCD type grinding sooner, I waited till the afternoon to cut it. Need to be quicker when they edge up like that, my size was small so not the end of the world, just annoying.

Target: Big pop’s, thought this would collapse on the further bashing by Citron, but looks like maybe its down as far as its going to go.

Watchlist for 10-30-2015 – $EXAS, $APDN, $SUNE, $NYMX, $VTL, $AVXL, $RLYP

Today’s Watchlist

Good day yesterday, though I executed on my plans, I was very late on a lot of entries. Left a lot of money on the table. Big list today, will try and focus on only the most liquid of them.

Today’s List: Full list from Yahoo Finance

Exact Sciences Corporation (EXAS) -NasdaqCM

Hoping for a squeeze back up to $8’s, terrible miss by me on this yesterday after the morning spike. Should have gotten some in the mid $9’s.

Target: $8+

Applied DNA Sciences Inc. (APDN) -NasdaqCM

Not really my type of play but will be watching for a bounce.

Target: Mid $3’s with a stop on $3.

SunEdison, Inc. (SUNE) -NYSE

Nevermind, rumors of a big hedge fund stake fizzled out.

Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation (NYMX) -NasdaqCM

Target: High $3’s

Vital Therapies, Inc. (VTL) -NasdaqGS

Another miss yesterday, but this one was tough, very spiky all day then fell apart right at the close.

Target: $9.00

Anavex Life Sciences Corp. (AVXL) -NasdaqCM

I’m pretty confident this ends up a killer short at some point, but I’m in no rush. Seems “everybody” is short and they are ringing the Nasdaq bell this afternoon I think. Will watch but this is probably more a play for next week once all the uplisting hype fades.

Relypsa, Inc. (RLYP) -NasdaqGS

Made decent money on this yesterday, though it never refused to crack $16, held for what felt like an eternity. I had a play to enter in the $17’s but did not execute because of watching GPRO and TWTR, reminder to focus on the junk not the real stuff even if they are moving. Ended up shorting in the mid $16’s and tried to hold all day.

Target: Pops to set risk, no rush.

Watchlist 8-18-2014 – $ACHN, $AMCF, $DANG, $EXAS, $FABU, $FREE, $LRAP, $PIP, $PLUG

Pretty crappy connectivity today so I’m not going to post charts. Decent set of stocks though market looks to gap up big, I’m going to really try to sit on my hands at this point and into the open. My goal for this week is to trade less, and try and take bigger moves when I do trade. Way to much scalping last week.

Watchlist 8-14-2014 – $DANG, $GTAT, $LIVE, $EXAS

Considering how the market was raging yesterday (while I was on the road) I assumed there would be a lot more on scan. Not that much to get me excited… Decent day yesterday though again nothing to brag about, took close to $600 from $EXAS and traded it pretty well. Only bummer was I tried adding into the crack and at that point $IBKR ran out of shares so I only had 700 or 800 short when I would have liked 2K. But I’m happy with it, considering I made the right choices, sometimes you have shares sometimes you don’t. Am a little bummed I was scared out of trading $LIVE. That was a silly miss.

Traveling Part Time Trader – Day 2 Summary

Day Two

Well today was kind of a bummer, rainy, windy and cold all day, kind of makes it hard to explore the outdoors in cruddy conditions. Garrison and I still explored Waugoshance point and waded out into Lake Michigan fishing. Didn’t catch anything because the wind and waves were a little to extreme to go out too far. Would for sure be a great place to revisit with a kayak or canoe. We did some research and the fishing is good in the chain of islands, but we didn’t have the best setup or preparation.

We will for sure be back now, it helps to get an idea of what you are up against. We knew going in this would be kind of a scouting mission and our odds of bringing back dinner were pretty slim. The drive in was good for sight seeing as well. Long winding single track through the woods.

There are lots of activities and sites to explore at the State Park, but again the weather put a damper on a lot of them. Lily and I walked around on some of the trails and she put on a wildlife show at the outdoor amphitheater for me. Her imagination never quits working thats for sure.

Looking forward to heading on to the next destination tomorrow, we’ll be crossing into the Upper Peninsula and moving onto some historic areas so should have some cool sight seeing even if the weather continues to be lackluster.

Trading wise today I’ll call a success, though barely. Its tough to get exited about $555 in profits, but when you consider I “worked” 5 hours, that still averages more than $100 an hour. If you want to extrapolate it out in that type of simplistic manner. Of course calling it work can be a stretch as well. Considering I sat in a coffee shop and watch ferries come and go, and sat with my feet up sipping coffee for 5 hours.

But I did follow the plan I laid out in yesterday’s post, pulled back and used 5 minute time frames to pick entries, stuck to trading my main watch list stocks and kept things tight. Only bummer was again on exits, still pushing and being to impatient on exits. $EXAS, I covered for peanuts about an hour before it cracked. Much like $KNDI yesterday, it could have been a huge win with just a little more patience.

But in my self defense the wifi at this Starbucks was pretty mediocre and made it difficult to sit there and wait for $EXAS to break down. I reconnected and saw $350 and got the hell out. Had I not had spotty access I don’t think I would have been that quick to cover. But I may also be making excuses after the fact.

I profited on $GTAT and $DANG, but they ended up being mediocre shorts. BUT, while I normally torture myself over mistakes, I’ll actually pat myself on the back for playing these well. Neither of them wanted to crack so instead of letting them grind back against me, I cut them for piddly profits. And sure enough they both did grind in the afternoon.

I think I hit the solid plays of the day, though I have pretty limited access now, so I’m not really sure what happened this afternoon. I’ll know when I run scans and build watch lists tomorrow.

My “baseline” goal for trading is $500 a day, I hit that, but looking forward to much better results tomorrow. I’ll step up positions sizes a little tomorrow, I did edge a little slowing into adds today and let a lot of trades move without me without adds.
