Watchlist 12/9/2014 – $IDRA, $ARRY, $JRJC, $FRAN, $CTIX, $VIMC

Kind of an aggravating day yesterday, shorted $ARRY and $IDRA late day, both pretty mediocre setups. $ARRY, could fade, but I should have covered $IDRA into the last minute spike. I went into both of these with the swing mindset and swing size, but that being said probably should have just skipped them. I did short a VERY solid setup $FRAN, yesterday, but was dicking around with $IDRA and $ARRY so I covered for puny gains, then it cracked late day. I say it all the time, but I need to focus on fewer setups and be patient for them to come to me, if they don’t so be it.

Plan:

IDRA

Pulling back from its aftermarket highs, I should have known something was up what it ran that hard into the close. I chose to hold and there was a PR after hours. By the time I saw it, it had calmed down and quit spiking so I held. I will look to add if it doesnt spike out of the gate. If it gets going again I’ll cover for the loss.

IDRA

ARRY

Looks pretty tired and it did show up on my “red candle floater” scan, I’m basically flat in it right now, not sure if it will be volatile today. So again its a swing, I’ll cover into any washes.

ARRY

JRJC

Skipped this yesterday, was a decent fade after a couple tops in the morning. I’ll look to short if it runs to $9, otherwise will probably just ignore.

JRJC

FRAN

Probably no play here, I’m just watching because I botched it yesterday.

FRAN

CTIX

Hopefully a parabolic out of the gate to set risk against, then I’ll short with HOD as risk.

CTIX

VIMC

Looking for a gap up and fade.

Watchlist 10-14-2014 – $LAKE, $APT, $IBIO, $AHPI, $OBCI, $JNS, $VSR, $SMED, $VIMC

Trade Plan:

So maybe today is the day some of the Ebola hype starts to fade. All the hot stocks were spiking huge after hours last night but most of them are coming back in this morning. I’m gonna stay extra cautious though, I’m scared of some sort of fake out. I would much rather short late day after there is some confirmation versus trying to catch them this morning.

I may regret it, but I really foresee a quick drop at the open then they will all grind or even potentially spike back. I’ll be watching and waiting to short the weakest of the bunch.

Watchlist 9-29-2014 – $CNET, $GTIM, $JRJC, $NXTD, $SOPW, $VIMC

Today’s Plan:

Late start today, annoying, didnt get my full morning routine in so feeling a little out of sorts. Everything but $GTIM are short watches, but none of them are great setups. I’ll be watching all for late day fades and be tracking $GTIM for a long if it opens weak and then trends back. FYI on $JRJC, earnings are tonight, so good idea not to hold either way overnight.

Watchlist 9-25-2014 – $CNET, $CREG, $LPCN, $NXTD, $RITT, $VIMC

Today’s Plan:

Nothing really strong on the list today, I do like all these stocks as shorts, just the price is not great on most of them. Several the moves are already started or over. So I will be watching and hoping for some spiking to short into. I will avoid trading any of them unless I get a good pop. Today will be a day to be picky I believe.

Watchlist 9-18-2014 – $AVNR, $VIMC

Plan:

Several other good plays out there, but I’m only going to be around till about noon. Since my renewed focus is to quit being a degenerate scalper, I will be spending all morning laser focused on $AVNR, looks like I could get a decent drop. But I will really try and not just take 10-20 fricking cents a share.

$VIMC, looks to be a little boring, but I’ll hold it as long as it goes sideways or obviously if it fades. Any pop I’ll be out. I have a lot to do tomorrow as well so would be nice to be in cash overnight.

Trade recap – 9/17/2014 – $AVNR, $VIMC Big Inspiration from @investorslive and @lx21 video!

Well after watching LX21’s Investors Underground interview (which is a MUST SEE BTW). I decided to reboot a little to my older more systematic method of trading. I’ve been bitching all summer about small profits and scalping. At this point I think I was being a pussy and blaming the market when I should have been pointing the finger back at myself. In trading there is only one person that creates problems or creates profits, yourself. That being said Gregg’s video really reminded me that one of the best ways to be a profitable short seller is with a more detailed and system like approach.

I’ve gotten tired of chasing moves and trading morning momentum. I’m both better at and enjoy more, waiting for the hype to fade and shorting for bigger moves. Sure its predicatable that you can get a quick scalp off when stocks go parabolic, but its filled with anxiety and just feels more like gambling.

I’d rather analyze, pick my spots and stick to rules and a plan.

Thanks Nate, Cam and Gregg for a great and inspiring video.

I decided to hold both $AVNR and $VIMC short overnight, $AVNR did hit my stop quickly but I held through it, but had a plan. I told myself if it stays strong after the fed news at 2PM I’d exit. I had enough degenerate forsite to see an anomolous spike around the fed meeting.

Trade Log – 9/17/2014 – $VIMC

Ticker: $VIMC

Entry: $8.00

Position Size: 675

Stop: $8.50

Target:¬†High $6’s

Thesis:

Up a bunch of days in a row, I was intending on just watching this but put in a GTC order at $IBKR to get shares if they came available. Well thought I put it at $8.50 and actually set it at $8.00, so I’m short at a shitty price with an odd lot size. I’ll continue to hold (though probably foolish, the smart thing on a mistake is to always exist immediately) I’ll only add to my position under $8, I will not add to a loser.

Watchlist 9-1-2014 – $AVNR, $IFON, $SCOK, $SINO, $VIMC, $VOIL

Today’s Plan:

Good looking list today, I held $AVNR overnight, will look to exit quickly on any morning panic. If it doesnt crack hard it will probably fight back. I wasted way to much time watching it yesterday. Annoying. I’d like to short $IFON and $VIMC, but do NOT want to be early. Would love to see a spike out of the gate then fading action mid day.

Watchlist 9-16-2014 – $AVNR, $SCOK, $SINO, $VIMC

Today’s Plan:

Well looks like all the wearable camera plays and e-payment plays have pretty much died off. Not a ton on watch today, guess its time to wait for the next theme to pop a bunch of junk. $AVNR is probably the most “in play” stock, but I got beat up on it yesterday so I’m going to try and avoid it.
