Watchlist 10-24-2014 – $IBIO, $SOPW, $INFN, $RGLS, $LIVE – All Ebola stocks

Trade Plan:

Like most Friday’s I will only be trading a half day. Could be kind of a bummer, with all the Ebola news this afternoon could be interesting. But also dangerous, I got in my opinion lucky on $TKMR yesterday. Made a nice profit then had the intention of holding 1/2 all day for a fade, after it would not crack $18.50 I covered, about 30 minutes later the NYC Ebola news came out and I would have been torched. I’ll be looking to short any and all Ebola’s on weak price action. But I will not try and pick any tops and will not hold long. The potential for news is way to high. If I was smart I’d be playing them on the long side, that is probably where the easy money is.

Watchlist 10-21-2014 – $IBIO, $UNIS, $SCOK, $BBRY, $NQ, $ESI, $SOPW, $LIVE

Trade Plan:

Annoying day yesterday, after saying in my plan I would watch all morning I ended up shorting $SCOK early and got squeezed all afternoon. SUPER frustrating considering I put myself in that position. Ended up getting half my losses back late day after shorting into the close. FUCKING SHOULD HAVE JUST WAITED TILL THEN!! Had I followed my plan it would have been a profitable day instead of a loser…

So, same plan today, even if a great play appears I’m forcing myself to sit on my hands till the afternoon. Call it self punishment. Or most likely I’ll end up with a profitable day because I won’t try shorting the front side of a move.

Watchlist 8-14-2014 – $DANG, $GTAT, $LIVE, $EXAS

Considering how the market was raging yesterday (while I was on the road) I assumed there would be a lot more on scan. Not that much to get me excited… Decent day yesterday though again nothing to brag about, took close to $600 from $EXAS and traded it pretty well. Only bummer was I tried adding into the crack and at that point $IBKR ran out of shares so I only had 700 or 800 short when I would have liked 2K. But I’m happy with it, considering I made the right choices, sometimes you have shares sometimes you don’t. Am a little bummed I was scared out of trading $LIVE. That was a silly miss.

Watchlist 6-4-2014 – $SARA, $YOD, $GIGA, $LIVE, $SYPR, $QRHC

I’m going to start going back to old school techniques. Feel like I’ve been overtrading lately. Trading many momentum stocks for piddly profits. I hate scalping but it seems to be the rut I’ve fell into lately. Going to revert to my trading rule of 0-3 trades per day. I’m making money trading a bazillion times a day, buts its annoying and tiring.

SARA

Play is probably over on this, but maybe get a spike to short into again. I had an order set at $2.40 to short but never hit submit, then watched it fade all day.

SARA

YOD

I shorted this yesterday for decent profits, then re-entered right into the close. Probably another scalp but I think it has a decent chance to fade away over multiple days.

YOD

GIGA

Still no shares at $IBKR, but I will keep checking 100 times a day until this cracks.

These are the “old school” plays I mention above, lower volume but look to be easy fade setups.

Watchlist 5-29-2014 – $SPEX, $LIVE, $XXII, $XGTI

Traded $SPEX and $LIVE for piddly profits yesterday. Trading to quick and scared. These fast movers always seem to spook me out. Had I been more patient and bore the pain of some swings, could have profited HUUUUUGE! Oh well.

I’m still short biased, but could have made a killing on the long side yesterday.

This is my pre-gainers/earnings winner buy scan experiment via stockstotrade.com, not sure if I will trade it, but will track and paper trade for sure to further track this experimental method.

Watchlist 5-28-2014 – $SPEX, $LIVE

Royally botched trading $SPEX yesterday, bought it in the morning then sold for like .10 cents. After that it went up a dollar… Fought it all afternoon trying to short and ended up basically flat on it. Wow do I struggle holding winners on longs, especially when they are up as much as this one. Had I held from the morning buy I could have sold for HUGE profits overnight. Then could have spent the afternoon doing something other than forcing shorts.

SPEX

Big spike pre market and now seems to be settling back. I’ll be looking to fade this, but only in the afternoon. I won’t force anything early.

LIVE

Still no borrows for me, $IBKR has had every borrow I have wanted for the last couple months I got lazy changing brokers. Looks like I need to revisit that.
