Lots of pretty good looking setups today! But I HATE half days/holiday trading… Things frequently do the opposite of what you anticipate on days like this. I’ve had a good week so if I do trade today it will be small and infrequent.

While I know non-trades/paper trades are annoying as hell… I did spend a lot of time working in stockstotrade.com yesterday and feel I’m found a pretty good system for patching a huge hole in my abilities. Trading the long side. Buying has always been a weakness of mine because I am so much better at location short setups. We will see if it works longterm, but stockstotrade.com helped me locate $ICLD early yesterday before the big move. I did not trade it because I was afraid I was just desperate to find any long to take. If I locate and find another high probability setup I’ll let the rubber meet the road today and see how it goes.

I’m still holding from Monday, seems like nothing but carnage coming on this after the momentum goes away. Non stop bad news and the chart looks like it could really crack. Bummer is I never went into this as a “swing” it was a daytrade and now here I am still holding it 3 days later. Pisses me off I went against my original thesis.

As mentioned in the video above, I missed this on the long side, I’ll now be looking for a short entry.

XGTI

Shitty looking wireless play, non stop fader until a recent spike. Would be nice to see some more upside today, then setup for a late day fade.

Even bigger than the fuckup of missing the long on $ICLD, was missing the short on this yesterday… Popped out of the open and then faded literally the ENTIRE day. Would have been an easy low stress short. It might go a little lower, but I’m only added it because I’m so annoyed I missed it yesterday. Look for these setups pre market!

I’m intentionally scaling back my trading per my trading rules. I got in the mode recently of overtrading and while it was profitable, it was just barely profitable. When I get into the full on “hardcore day trader” mode I invariably enter too many bad setups and give back the profits on the good setups. Not sure why I forgot the rule of only taking 0-3 trades per day but I did….

Trading 10 times a day makes it hard to review trading logs too, plus its hard to make a recap video on tons of trades. I think its more informative and more profitable to just focus on 0-3 GOOD setups a day. And avoid the mediocre setups, less “hope and pray” too.

Traded this yesterday and I’m currently holding a loser. Was to early on the short, should have waited for the big move in the afternoon, as opposed to trying to short the fade early on. I’ll be cutting this loose early unless it consistently fades away.

PGFY

I never shorted this last week because of the lack of borrows. Still no shares at $IBKR but I want to watch it, interesting story of resigning executives and potential investigations etc. I’ll also be ALFSS.

ISR

I’ve made piddly profits on this here and there, but I gotta believe some day there will be a big crack. From what I can tell they just keep recycling the same news over and over and over again.

I would loooove to short the maker of that stupid ass bowflex… This looks to be ready to fade back, but it is a real company so that makes it a pretty mediocre setup.

After taking half of last week off to volunteer at a wilderness camp I’m back it. Not a whole lot on the screens, but it also usually takes me an hour or so to get back in the groove after taking several days off. I’ll be more aggressive on the scans into the open.
