Watchlist 3-31-2014 – $PEIX, $ICLD

Good trading on Friday, nothing great but another solidly green day. Again today almost nothing on the screens, the setups are there every day, just don’t seem to be there before pre market. These couple picks are pretty lame I admit.

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) -NasdaqCM

Squeezed late day friday. Looks like a competitor ($BIOF) might have gotten bought out. So this might jump, if not I see a solid fade potential.

InterCloud Systems, Inc. (ICLD) -NasdaqCM

Thought about shorting this several times on Friday, but it is already down so much off its highs. I’ll be watching, but would be nice to get a big spike.

Watchlist 3-28-2014 – $NWBO, $SPLI

Good day yesterday, was fully strapped in all day and churned out some solid profits. No big winners but several bunts and singles, its amazing how quickly profits can add up when you are quick and agile and trade disciplined.

Quiet day on the scans for sure, but yesterday was similar. Lately it seems trading the intraday action is where its at.

Northwest Biotherapeutics, Inc. (NWBO) -NasdaqCM

Not my usual type of play, but with enough selling this could really crack.

AvWorks Aviation Corp. (SPLI) -Other OTC

Doubt I will trade this because of the low price. But I HAVE to watch it, if you think there are a bunch of crazy loons ranting about $BCOIN on twitter, you haven’t seen ANYTHING yet…. The amount of irrational and insane people trading and promoting this stock is off the charts!!

Watchlist 3-27-2014 – $WWE, $PEIX, $FFHL

Quick and dirty list today, after the big shakeout late day yesterday my screens are coming back pretty dry.

Good news is looks like the market is going to bounce and I’m excited by the potential at and soon after the open.

These short picks though, meh.

General Motors Misled Grieving Families on a Lethal Flaw – – $GM

The whole story stinks to high heaven, but this quote really gets the conspiracy theory gears turning!

Watchlist 3-25-2014 – $PEIX, $IDN, $MVIS, $MNGA, $PTX

While it was a green day in the end, was pretty frustrating all in all. Spent the morning grinding out some solid profits, then went to leave mid day for a dog walk (per my plan). I skipped and ended up entering some shitty trades, that did nothing but gobble up time and mental energy and create small losses. Good news is I stuck to my rules and followed my plan on the actual trades so the losses were small. But managed to turn a good day into a mediocre day by not following my routine. Wrote about it in detail in my journal so hoping it sticks in my stupid brain…

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) -NasdaqCM

Several missed trades on this yesterday, not entirely sure why I never shorted it. I have it in my logbook, but I think I just got scared out by the early choppiness. But soon after the open it was a killer short.

Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (IDN) -NYSE MKT

This was my loser from yesterday, and really should have probably never entered. I thought I saw some fading mid day, but it never really moved. Should have covered for stratch but I waited and took a small loss instead. Positives were that I set a stop, stuck to it and followed my rules. Good lesson in discipline. Plus there are earnings today, I followed my rule of not holding into earnings.

Microvision Inc. (MVIS) -NasdaqGM

Almost shorted this premarket, and while it would have worked out great, it was scary at that point. Not sure how good the news is on this, but I’ll be looking to fade it. Not a ton of downside left.

Magnegas Corporation (MNGA) -NasdaqCM

I always try and avoid pre market trading, but yesterday it burned me, between $MVIS and $MNGA, I missed two great trades. Not sure the lesson, I still think its wise to avoid premarket, but maybe be more aggressive just go in with smaller size.

Pernix Therapeutics Holdings, Inc. (PTX) -NasdaqGM

Illiquid stock, but I have done well with shorting these through the years. I do like the chart and there are borrows at $IBKR.

Watchlist 3/24/2014 – $MNGA, $ISR, $PEIX, $ASTM

Today’s pic is the bane of my existence. I try as much as possible to take the middle of the day off and do some thinking and get in some moderate exercise.

Lot of missed trades from Friday, I should have done a recap then. Ended up missing the last couple hours of the day to record a podcast with a buddy. By the time I got back I flat out just forgot to do a trading recap. I’ll be back this afternoon.

Magnegas Corporation (MNGA) -NasdaqCM

I did not realize this fought all the way back at the end of the day! I had assumed this play would be dead by today. Almost shorted a couple times Friday morning, but ended up skipping. There were for sure long and short opportunities both. Be nice to see some crazy spike today to short into later in the day.

IsoRay, Inc. (ISR) -NYSE MKT

This one is probably done for for me. While there is still some downside the easy short is over with. I mainly added it to watch just as a reminder to check in on it at the end of the day to see where its at.

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX) -NasdaqCM

A little too high priced for me, plus it’s such a slow mover. My thoughts are its a complete POS, but I’m really struggling with picking an entry. Usually when its not clear to me its best to just avoid.

Aastrom Biosciences, Inc. (ASTM) -NasdaqCM

Annoyed at myself, I swore I almost shorted this Friday, but I see this ticker no where in my notes/tradelog. Looks like it was a solid short in the morning, then like most pennystock shit burgers had a late day short squeeze into the close. Lesson for newbs, its very dangerous to hold shorts into the close on Friday’s, the almost always squeeze.

Very well put.

“For 99% of people, bitcoin doesn’t solve any problem they have,” says Bradley Golding, a managing director at New York investment firm Christofferson, Robb & Co., which specializes in investing in financial companies and has decided not to invest in bitcoin-related companies. “Most people are comfortable going to their bank, making a deposit and using a credit card…It’s a solution in search of a problem.”

Watchlist 3-21-2014 – $ISR, $MNGA, $BIOF

Small and mediocre list today. While all three of these will most likely pan out as shorts, I don’t think any of them will be solid today. More like next week.

Today’s List: Full list from Yahoo Finance

IsoRay, Inc. (ISR) -NYSE MKT

I shorted small size the other day and have held on with a death grip. My price is ok, but I was mainly entered because I saw shares evaporating at $IBKR. I think this ends up a good short, but who knows it may take WEEKS, which I despise, I hate looking at the some ticker day after day.

Everybody in the world is short this, so it may hold up a long time. And any follow up news could really spike it, VERY dangerous short.

Magnegas Corporation (MNGA) -NasdaqCM

I had this on watch as a short the other day and it played out nicely. I never shorted it, I can’t remember if I was watching other things or if there were no shares. Today there are borrows and its spiking on a Seeking Alpha article. I just entered an order a minute ago and chose to cancel it. I will be watching this closely into the open though.

BioFuel Energy Corp. (BIOF) -NasdaqCM

I’m perennially short biased on all these shitty alternative fuel companies, this had a nice close and I almost took it long overnight. Now I’ll look to short into any spikes.

Are you spending your time in the right places?  Do you know more about certain TV shows and a certain celebrity’s lives than your own?  Do you spend more time planning out this Friday night than the rest of your life?  If your answer is, “yes” I suggest a change.

Watchlist 3-19-2014 – $CDTI, $OCLS, $MNGA

Solid day yesterday even though I caught small parts of moves, and totally missed $MNGA. I won’t cry for 10 minutes, but damn I’m pissed on $MNGA, I said in yesterday’s list that it was my “Number one short watch” and then for some reason I never even traded it. Maybe I was busy with $CDTI? But that is fishing for an excuse. I just watched it crack then fade all day. Oh well, still a very solid day.

Smallish list today, but I’m also trying to focus a little more an hour before the open. A lot of the best plays seem to be shaping up then.

Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. (CDTI) -NasdaqCM

Profited nicely on this yesterday, but only captured a small part of the move. Should have been more patient as it faded all day, and could really crack today.

Oculus Innovative Sciences, Inc. (OCLS) -NasdaqCM

Tried shorting this mid morning yesterday but at that point $IBKR was out of shares. Bummer. I see there are a few available again this morning. I’ll be watching this closely as long as there is still inventory.

Magnegas Corporation (MNGA) -NasdaqCM

Mainly posting this out of spite. Sure it could still crack 20% or more, but the good play was yesterday. Typically when they fall this far this fast they will coast sideways for days, crushing the soul of any day trading short seller. If you have a longer more swing like timeframe, probably still a solid setup.
