Watchlist – 5/28/2010

No charts and no writeup today, I have time to do it this morning, but I know once the day starts there is NO way I will have time to trade them. Only real point in even posting them is the extreme hope that one of the two people that read this crappy blog might find them useful. Plus I would like to review them after the trading day to see where they end up. Per usual I am short biased on all the tickers below.

Watchlist – 5/27/2010 – Guess what $HAUP is on it!?!

Still holding HAUP from Monday, I DESPISE holding shorts this long, but this stock just continues to slowly edge down and the volume is just totally collapsing.. I really thought yesterday was going to be the day, and I wanted desperately to cover, but every hour it would drop another penny. And while there was a small tape painting at the close it basically closed right on the low of the day.

Another down day in the markets, so no great setups, I will focus on HAUP since I’m very concerned it could spike and erase some of my profits, if it stays under $3 I will continue to be patient, if it goes over $3 I’m out. Besides I anticipate a VERY busy day at work, so I will set price on alerts on HAUP and wait for those, other then that I doubt I will watch the market at any point.

Watchlist – 5/26/2010 – Again just $HAUP, but yesterdays list was nice!

Still holding HAUP short, and sitting on a decent UNrealized profit at this point. Probably should have covered into the drop to $2.80, but I was AFK when a certain high profile trader shorted it and by the time I got back to my PC it was back to banging around the $3 mark. I still like the short and barring any big news I think it continues to slowly fade back into oblivion. My biggest concern is the buyers seem determined to keep it above $3. Every time it cracks, it bounces back above. I’m trying to be patient but if it shows any strength I will cover and book my profits.

Comments above say it all. SHORT

Recap from yesterday:

BFAR

Volume was BRUTAL, but killer short, closed down $2.50 a share!! I can’t remember but I think there were a few shares to be had. MISSED!!

HAUP

No good play yesterday, glad I’m short from Monday’s price.

LMCO

I actually thought this was going to fall apart yesterday, but after dropping right at the open it regained its losses. I’m watching still, but only out of the corner of my eye.

LSCG

Kind of the same comments as LMCO, fell with the market, then recovered with the market. I’ve still got it in my realtime watch list, but doubt I’ll trade it now, becoming boring.

SEED

I’d like to think if I was at my PC when it cracked $8 I would have shorted this, but by the time I got back it was climbing back up. So considering my timing glad I didn’t play it. But bummer I wasn’t around when it dropped.

VSTNQ

Dropped right out of the gate fast and hard. Nice to predict it but tough to play a falling knife like that. Especially a bankrupt pinksheet. Kind of like SEED, it sucks I missed it, but tough to play at the same time.

Watchlist 5/25/2010 – An ok list considering the beat down markets.

Looks to be another big down day today, and of course considering the heavy selling yesterday not a ton on my list again. Since I look to primarily short high flyers, and its obviously tough to get high flyers in a market that just keeps selling off. I’ll just watch and keep my powder dry. I did make a trade yesterday that I was not crazy about at first, but my comfort level increased as the day went on. Of course it pretty much went sideways most the day and only went down at a decent rate when the market sold off last minute. So not sure if I will get huge downside in this hyped up stock or maybe just pennies as it follows the market. Oh well, up decent unrealized and optimistic at this point.

BFAR

Holdover from last week, it looked to tank on Wed, but I just noticed its managed to recover. But still looking weak and a total POS. SHORT

HAUP

As mentioned above, currently short overnight. Though small still nice to see some insider selling! SHORT

LMCO

Very “pumpish” looking electric car company. If Tesla Motors had an alcoholic screw up brother who had been hit in the head to many times this company would be it. Only a few shares available pre market, if they stick around I may go after this aggressively, if my morning isn’t over the top busy. SHORT

LSCG

Another holdover from last week. Every time it looks to crack it bounces though. I’m fairly certain it will shit the bed at some point, but not sure if I have the patience to wait. And considering the lack of plays today, I may be fishing on this one. SHORT

SEED

Perennial short watch, I think I have looked to short this 10 times over the last few years, but don’t think I ever have. Big pop and a fade yesterday, and a decent amount of borrows. But its a day traders favorite so the predictability is tough. SHORT

VSTNQ

I hate trading Q’s especially short, but its hard not to keep an eye on this one. 50 cents to 2 bucks in two days. But its a brain dead auto supplier on bailout watch. Tough to ignore, very tempting… SHORT
